Séminaire famille 2014 OCVFThe Catholic Organization for Life and Family (COLF) held a seminar on The Christian Family: Witnessing to Hope in Today’s World, March 20-21, 2014, in Quebec City. About 100 people were present. The team from the Web television channel of the Archdiocese of Québec, ECDQ.TV, produced a 12-minute video with interviews of some of the resource persons and participants, including the Most Reverend Noël Simard, Bishop of Valleyfield and Chair of the COLF Board of Directors. The Most Reverend Richard Smith, Archbishop of Edmonton and a member of the COLF Board of Directors, was also present at the seminar. Archbishop Smith is the Past President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops.

The seminar involved four guest speakers: Dr. Christine Jones, President of Redeemer Pacific College; Ms. Gillian Roussy, mother of five children and member of the Canadian branch of the International Federation for Family Development; Mr. Antoine Renard, President of the Fédération des Associations familiales catholiques de l’Europe, and Mr. Jasmin Lemieux-Lefebvre, Director of Communications for the Archdiocese of Québec. Seminar participants were welcomed at the Cathedral Notre-Dame de Québec for a Mass presided by His Eminence Gérald Cyprien Cardinal Lacroix, Archbishop of Québec and Primate of the Church in Canada.
