Tuesday, May 15 2001

(CCCB – Ottawa) Is it difficult for your family to pray together at home? How can you encourage your young children to pray? What family moments are good opportunities for prayers? The Catholic Organization for Life and Family (COLF) offers some suggestions in a new leaflet entitled: Come Let Us Pray! (available for dowloading in PDF format).

The leaflet invites families, which are small churches at home, to recognize God at work in their families and to follow the pathway of family prayer. It is designed for parents with young children to identify occasions for prayer in family life and offering suggestions for prayer in the home.

Preparation for baptism, first reconciliation, first communion and special family liturgies and celebrations are offered as excellent occasions to introduce the leaflet to parents so as to encourage prayer in the home.

The leaflet maybe ordered from COLF by telephone: (613) 241-9461; fax: (613) 241-8117; or by email: ocvfcolf@cccb.ca.

COLF was jointly founded by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) and the Knights of Columbus to promote respect for human life and dignity and the essential role of the family.
