Most Rev. Attila Mikloshazy Retires
Wednesday, April 05 2006![]() The Jesuit bishop is retiring after 17 years of service to the Catholic Hungarian diaspora. After finishing his studies in theology and serving in Hungary, he came to Canada where he taught in Montreal and Toronto between 1963 and 1998 especially in the area of liturgy. In 1989, he was appointed bishop by Pope John Paul II and ordained by Cardinal Emmett Carter, then Archbishop of Toronto. With this announcement, the Holy Father has directed that the future provision of the pastoral care for Hungarian emigrants be entrusted to the Hungarian Episcopal Conference. |
