National Week for Family and Life 2023

OTTAWA – The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) warmly invites the Catholic faithful to celebrate together National Family and Life Week 2023 (NFLW), which will take place between 7 – 14 May 2023. The theme chosen for this year is Jesus’ words, “Love one another. Just as I have loved you, love one another” (John 13:34).
Inspired by this theme, the CCCB Standing Committee for Family and Life, in tandem with its corresponding Office, released today a Pastoral Toolkit that seeks to emphasize the joy and beauty of family and life by highlighting various lived experiences of those in our local communities. Dioceses, parishes, movements and organizations are all encouraged to implement and promote the proposed resources. The toolkit includes a message from the CCCB President, an official logo, daily prayer intentions and activities for families and parishes, catechesis, a daily social media campaign based on related saints, and pastoral suggestions for a family and life Mass.
Let us spend NFLW 2023 (7-14 May 2023) united in prayer, reflection, and action, demonstrating our active support for family and life. Indeed, families are “guardians of life” when we love one another within our families and in wider society when we show kindness toward and care for the vulnerable and marginalized.
