Three Parents for One Child ? – COLF Reaction

Sunday, January 07 2007

COLFIn response to the Ontario Court of Appeal’s January 2, 2007 decision creating three legal parents for one child, the Catholic Organization for Life and Family (COLF) has issued a statement calling on Canadians to "pause, reflect, study and debate where our changing standards of marriage and family are taking us."

COLF emphasizes that the needs, rights and best interests of children should be the primary consideration in decisions concerning the family. The organization also insists upon the responsibility of legislatures to protect the natural realities of maternity, paternity and family, and asks that federal and provincial legislatures "ensure that their laws continue to promote the natural two-parent family model."
