Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
Friday, December 21 2007In Canada the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2008, will be from 20 to 27 January.
To help faith communities prepare for this Week, an Ecumenical Committee, coordinated by the Commission on Faith and Witness of the Canadian Council of Churches published documents inspired by the theme, “Pray without Ceasing”.
The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) is a member of the Canadian Council of Churches.
In Canada the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2008, will be from 20 to 27 January.
Inaugurated in 1908 at the initiative of an Episcopal priest of the United States, the event is celebrated all around the world. Most countries observe the event from 18 to 25 January.
