Logo_Year_of_Faith_2012-2013The Most Reverend Rino Fisichella, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting New Evangelization, announced the program for the Year of Faith during a press conference at the Holy See Press Office, 21 June 2012. The Holy Father had earlier proclaimed the Year of Faith, which will be celebrated from 11 October 2012 to 24 November 2013.

Archbishop Fisichella also presented the logo for the Year. It shows the image of a ship, symbolizing the Church. The mast of the vessel is a cross with full-blown sails which form the monogram of Christ (IHS). In the background is a sun representing the Eucharist. A special website for the Year, www.annusfidei.va, will be available in various languages and can be consulted by portable digital devices. The Year also has an official hymn, “Credo, Domine, adauge nobis fidem” (“I believe, Lord; increase our faith.”) A multilingual pastoral guide, “Living the Year of Faith”, is to be published in early September.
