The pastoral care of the family as well as the protection and defense of life from conception to natural death is central to the mission of the Bishops of Canada. The dignity of the human person and the privileged role of the family as its source and protection are foundational to the Church’s moral vision for society and of every principle of Catholic social teaching.  In order to address adequately the many needs and opportunities within these vast areas, the CCCB has established the Standing Committee for Family and Life, which is assisted in both official languages by the Office for Family and Life.
