2012-hommageocsThe organization Communications et Société, in collaboration with the Archdioceses of Gatineau and Ottawa, has awarded the Most Reverend Roger Ébacher, Archbishop Emeritus of Gatineau, its 2012 “Prix Hommage” for the Outaouais area.  As well, Saint Paul University, Ottawa, has awarded its Eugène de Mazenod Medal to Archbishop Ébacher. Both awards were presented during a reception on 2 March 2012 during the Salon du livre de l’Outaouais, in Gatineau. On the same occasion, Communications et Société also presented its national book awards in three categories: youth literature, spiritual and religious books, and essays.

The Eugène de Mazenod Medal of Saint Paul University bears the name of the founder of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, Saint Eugene de Mazenod. It is in recognition of the saint’s basic concern – to be bold and zealous in dealing with urgent societal issues and adapting to the actual situations that people are living.

Communications et Société, a non-profit organization based in Montreal, collaborates with the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops in various communications projects and services.
