Secretariat: Offices and Services
Office of the General Secretary
The General Secretary, under the direction of the President, is responsible for coordinating the activities by which the decisions of the Executive Committee, Permanent Council, and Plenary Assembly are implemented. He is, therefore, likewise responsible for the overall functioning of the secretariat, its offices and services (both individually and in relationship to each other), as well as its financial administration under the guidance of the Co-Treasurers. The General Secretary has historically been a priest appointed for a term of three years, normally renewable only once. He is assisted within the secretariat by a team, the Office of the General Secretary, whose members work closely with him at varying levels and degrees in the discharge of his responsibilities.
