Appointment of Father Michael Francis Kolarcik, S.J., as new Rector of the Pontifical Biblical Institute

Pope Francis has named Father Michael Francis Kolarcik, S.J., as the new Rector of the Pontifical Biblical Institute for its 2014-2017 triennium. Father Kolarcik was born in New Westminster, B.C., and is Associate Professor at Regis College of the University of Toronto. A specialist in Old Testament studies, he has given lectures in Western Canada and Ontario, and recently served as the Secretary of the Biblical Department of the Toronto School of Theology.
