New Director of the CCCB Office national de liturgie
Tuesday, June 8, 2021The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) recently hired Mr. Daniel Laliberté, Ph.D., as the incoming Director of the Office National de Liturgie (ONL). He succeeds Father Éric Sylvestre, P.S.S., who concludes his mandate on 9 July 2021 and will return to full-time ministry for the Society of the Priests of Saint-Sulpice (Sulpicians).
Originally from Quebec, Mr. Laliberté is a 58-year-old, married layman, father and grandfather, who obtained a doctorate in theology from Université Laval and Institut Catholique de Paris. Throughout his career, he taught in various institutions, worked for the Archdiocese of Quebec as a pastoral agent and as Director of the Centre catéchétique du Diocèse de Québec. Since 2014, he is professor of pastoral, catechetical and liturgical theology at the Centre Jean XXIII – Grand Séminaire de Luxembourg.
Mr. Laliberté will begin his new position at the CCCB on 1 September 2021.
