Pontifical Academy for Life hosts International Congress on Palliative Care

palliative-care-Rome CongresThe Pontifical Academy for Life will host an International Congress 28 February and 1 March 2018 on Palliative care: Everywhere & by Everyone. The congress will deal with access to palliative care in all communities and for all who need it. Nearly 400 participants from 38 countries are expected, among whom will be the Most Reverend Noël Simard, Bishop of Valleyfield and a member of the Pontifical Academy. The congress will be broadcast live on the web. The Pontifical Academy for Life was founded in 1994 by Saint John Paul II. Its aim is “the defence and promotion of the value of human life and the dignity of the person”, as stipulated in its new statutes which were revised in November 2016 by Pope Francis and came into effect on 1 January 2017.
