In accordance with the prescriptions of Canon 1292 §1, as well as Decree No. 38 of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, and after taking into consideration the 2024 national cost-of-living increase of 3.9%, the CCCB Permanent Council at its meeting of 19-20 March 2025, determined that the current maximum amount allowed for acts of alienation without recourse to the Holy See is CDN $6,770,461. This amount is adjusted annually according to the cost-of-living in Canada, taking January 1, 1993, as the point of reference.
