The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) and the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace – Caritas Canada (CCODP) released a joint statement in light of a recent news article containing unauthorized and incomplete information regarding the ongoing joint review of a number of Development and Peace’s international partners. The information was obtained without the consent of either the CCCB or the CCODP. The joint statement was prepared to highlight the shared concern by both the CCCB and CCODP that the premature publication of information risks undermining the joint process, the results of the review prior to its completion, and inaccurately casting a negative or false light on all involved.
