The Most Reverend Douglas Crosby, O.M.I., Bishop of Hamilton and President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB), has written to the Honourable Stéphane Dion, Minister of Foreign Affairs, concerning the difficult situation of the small Palestinian Christian community in the Cremisan Valley, and also regarding the genocidal violence of the so-called “Islamic State”. The letter was prepared in consultation with the Most Reverend Lionel Gendron, P.S.S., Bishop of Saint-Jean-Longueuil and Vice President of the CCCB, who was the CCCB delegate to the 2015 and 2016 meetings of the Coordination of Episcopal Conferences in Support of the Church in the Holy Land, and also with Mr. Carl Hétu, National Director of CNEWA Canada.
