The Episcopal Commission for Christian Unity / Religious Relations with the Jews / Interfaith Dialogue of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) points out that the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (21-28 January 2007) is an opportune moment to recall the ecumenical resources which are available year-round from the Canadian Council of Churches (CCC), in which the CCCB participates as a full member:
– The website of the Canadian Council of Churches provides updates in both English and French on ecumenical news in Canada at http://www.ccc-cce.ca/.
– The Canadian Council of Churches issues a monthly electronic newsletter providing the latest on its ecumenical work as well as background on its history and the activities of its two Commissions, Faith and Witness, and Justice and Peace.
– The CCC also issues a semi-annual bulletin, Emmaus, in both English and French. As well as available in a printed version, it is also posted on the CCC website.
– The CCC has a Speakers’ Bureau, made up predominantly of senior CCC staff, as well as current and past members of the CCC Governing Board, who are available in their own areas for speaking engagements about the CCC and its ecumenical work.
– Individuals and groups wishing to support the ecumenical and interfaith work of the CCC can receive a periodic newsletter and copies of the CCC news releases and other information by email by becoming Friends of the CCC through a $35.00 donation. Larger donations and pledges are also welcome; tax receipts are provided for donations of $35 and more.
