COLF Greets a New Assistant Director

Tuesday, August 09 2005

The Board of Directors of the Catholic Organization for Life and Family is happy to announce the appointment of Ms. Lea Sevcik as Assistant Director. She will work in close collaboration with the present Director of COLF, Ms. Michèle Boulva.

After obtaining her law degree from Harvard Law School (Cambridge) in 2003, Ms. Sevcik worked in the Financial Restructuring Department of a large New York law firm. She then joined the Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute (C-FAM), a non governmental organization working at the United Nations, as Legal Counsel.

Enthused at the idea of contributing to COLF’s mission and of getting more deeply involved in the new evangelization, the young Canadian lawyer, a native of Czechoslovakia, tells of her love for Canada: “I deeply believe in the importance of our country’s foundational values. I believe that the Catholic Church has a lot to give to Canadian society in the spheres of life and family. I believe it is essential to give Canadian children the chance to grow up in a morally sound country.”

The Catholic Organization for Life and Family is co-sponsored by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Supreme Council of the Knights of Columbus. It promotes respect for human life and dignity, and the essential role of the family.
