Tuesday, October 12 2004(CCCB – Ottawa) The Publications Service of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) has just released Ordo — Liturgical Calendar 2004-2005, an important reference tool for Canadian Catholics.
The Liturgical Calendar is a guide and calendar giving helpful information for the daily celebration of the Mass and the Liturgy of the Hours. With its easy-to-read design and detachable pages, it is a valuable planning resource for the preparation of all celebrations.
The 2004-2005 edition is for all people who prepare the liturgy, especially pastors, liturgy committees, and those involved in music ministry. This resource offers full explanatory notes and information for each day, from the beginning of Advent 2004 to the end of Ordinary Time in 2005.
The 384-page book contains references and useful information for liturgical celebrations for every day of the year. It lists major national celebrations, World Days and proper feasts for different dioceses across Canada, including the anniversary of the dedication of the cathedral, feast of the patron saint of the diocese, and the anniversary of the episcopal ordination of the bishop.
In addition, the pastoral notes at the beginning of the book contain a wealth of information and offer practical ideas and suggestions to help unleash the dynamic power of the liturgy, so that the believing community’s worship may guide its daily life.
