Your Excellency,
I am writing to assure you of my prayers, and those of the Bishops of Canada, for the people of the State of Florida in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, which has caused extensive damage, including the loss of several lives.
On this day when our Church commemorates the Most Holy Name of Mary, we implore her intercession for all the people of Florida, that they be comforted and strengthened for the difficult task of recovery and rebuilding that lies ahead.
May Our Lord grant pastoral fortitude to you and your brother Bishops as you shepherd your flocks in this time of uncertainty and loss.
Fraternally yours in Christ and Mary Immaculate,
Most Rev. Douglas Crosby, OMI
Bishop of Hamilton
President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops
